Quality Engineer

To match the needs of our rapidly expanding global customer base, we have an immediate need for a Quality Engineer in our Tucson AZ office.

Position Overview

As Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for leading process improvement initiatives in the Product Development Division. You will monitor and audit development and support activities for deficiency identification and correction. You will represent Product Development on quality-related activities with other divisions within Modular, as well as with contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable on hardware and software engineering processes
• Develop relationships with quality representatives in Modular's internal and external partners
• Work closely with project teams to conduct audits and present corrective actions
• Advise project teams on processes, standards and quality
• Determine deficiencies in process and recommend improvements
• Maintain process documentation, flowcharts, checklists and templates
• Maintain a database of quality metrics and KPIs

• Proficiency in MS Office

Required Professional Designation/Certification

• BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• ASQ CSQE or CQE a plus

Required Experience

Modular is willing to hire recent graduates for this position, although preference will be given to candidates that have relevant experience.

Preferred Experience

• Quality engineering role in product development for both hardware and software
• Experience with entire product management lifecycle including concept development and support cycles
• Supply chain management experience
• Experience with goal driven metrics
• Auditing and corrective actions experience
• MS SharePoint experience
• Experience with statistics packages
