Copper Mountain Commissions Modular’s DISPATCH System

Tucson, Arizona – August 5, 2014

Modular Mining Systems, Inc., the global leader in the delivery of real-time computer-based mine
management solutions for surface and underground mining operations, announced today the successful
commissioning of Modular’s DISPATCH® Fleet Management system (FMS) at the Copper Mountain Mine
in southern British Columbia, Canada.

The 18,000 acre site is designed to operate 24-hours a day, 365 days per year, with a mine rate of
175,000 tonnes per day (TPD). Implementation of Modular’s DISPATCH FMS will enable the mine to
optimize production from their fleet of 21 haul trucks and 4 loading units.

Don Strickland, VP Operations at Copper Mountain, cited Modular’s experience as being a key factor in the
decision-making process. “We are excited about utilizing this system to capture production improvement
opportunities.”

Fleet management systems allow mines to maximize production, minimize risk and reduce the overall
fleet operating cost. “Many mines do not consider the purchase of a fleet management system as a
capital savings during an expansion plan,” said Greg Lanz, General Manager North America, at Modular.
“Our primary goal is to help Copper Mountain meet or exceed their production goals as an alternative to
simply adding haulage capacity.”

Copper Mountain’s production facility commenced operations in 2011 and currently has a 17+ year
expected lifespan.
