Modular Implemented at Chandrapur

Modular Mining Systems, Inc.—the market leader in powerful information management solutions for mining operations worldwide—announces that Eastern Minerals and Trading Agency (EMTA) has chosen to implement the Modular IntelliMine® asset management suite at the Chandrapur mine, of EMTA subsidiary Karnataka EMTA Coal Mining Ltd., located in the state of Maharashtra, India.
During AIMEX 2007, Modular CEO Peter Carter signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EMTA group of companies Managing Director Mr. Upadhaya. Upadhaya stated that, after reviewing all current market systems, EMTA saw Modular technology as the best available solution. Upadhaya also remarked that if the Chandrapur installation was a success, EMTA would look to have Modular systems installed across a number of other mines in India. Modular’s presence in and long-term commitment to the Indian market played a large role in EMTA’s decision.
In March of this year, EMTA commenced with finalizing the deal for the IntelliMine® system; installation will be completed over the next six months.
EMTA is one of the largest and fastest growing private mining companies in India. Modular technology is seen as a critical component for the group as it develops into an industry leader in India’s mining market. The Chandrapur fleet is comprised of around thirty haul trucks and five excavators from Komatsu as well as one Hitachi excavator.
