Job Purpose
The Global Applications Training Specialist is primarily responsible for working with team members to develop and implement robust product training programs. As an expert in our core products (e.g., DISPATCH, ProVision, MineCare, Argus, etc.), this professional improves staff knowledge, skills, and proficiency both within our company and with our clients, ensuring the most effective and efficient usage of our systems. This role extends beyond training, with the Training Specialist expected to host knowledge transfers, provide product support, and serve as a subject matter expert for our Global Training Development, Customer Success and, potentially, Product Development teams. This role requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for learning, development, and continuous improvement, who will stay informed about industry trends and adapt to our ever-evolving product offerings.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Each day will present you with new challenges and opportunities to test and grow your skills. As a Global Applications Training Specialist with Komatsu MTS, you’ll be responsible for:
- Product Training Development and Implementation: Craft and execute detailed product training programs for internal teams and customer staff, aligned with organization goals to increase proficiency.
- Internal, Customer, and Regional Support: Provide ongoing support and guidance to internal teams, customers, and regional teams. Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to empower users and enhance their understanding and usage of our products.
- On-Site Training & Client Interaction: Travel to client sites to lead training sessions, conduct assessments, facilitate assisted learning sessions and certifications, and perform other related activities.
- Subject Matter Expertise & Technical Communication: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within our Global Training Development and potentially our Product Development teams, contributing insights that can inform product and training development. Translate complex product information into understandable concepts for non-technical team members.
- Performance Tracking, Evaluation, and Improvement: Monitor the effectiveness of training programs, solicit feedback, and implement improvements as necessary to ensure maximum impact.
- Product Knowledge Updates & Standardization Support: Stay abreast of new product developments and launches, ensuring this information is promptly and effectively transferred to internal stakeholders. Contribute to efforts aimed at standardizing training across the organization.
- Conflict Resolution & Professionalism: Handle complex and difficult situations with patience, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster a strong spirit of teamwork and collaboration across the organization, working closely with various teams and departments to achieve training and company-wide goals.
- Continual Learning and Adaptability: As a motivated and enthusiastic learner, continually upgrade your knowledge about industry trends, new product developments, and pedagogical techniques.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in dispatching in Fleet Management Systems (FMS), with a preference for experience working with DISPATCH.
- At least 2 years of experience in developing and/or delivering training programs, with a demonstrable record of effectiveness.
- Excellent Communication: Ability to clearly convey complex product information to a diverse range of users, and to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
- Self-Motivation: A high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical and non-technical issues that may arise during training sessions or in the use of our products.
Desired Skills
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, signifying a solid foundation in relevant theories and principles.
- Familiarity with Modular Products such as DISPATCH (DSP), ProVision (PV), MineCare (MC), MineWare (MW), Front Runner (FR), and similar.
- Proven experience as a trainer in a professional setting, highlighting an ability to engage learners and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
- Experience with or knowledge of Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS), demonstrating a broad understanding of industry technologies.
- Prior experience in a similar role within a large organization, indicating familiarity with the complexities and challenges of such an environment.
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Management, coaching or staff development experience.
- MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) certification, denoting a commitment to safety standards in mining operations.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and changes in the product lineup.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with eLearning platforms and Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably Brightspace by D2L.
- Fluency in multiple languages would be a valuable asset in our diverse, global company.
- Strong customer service orientation, with a commitment to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
- Industry experience and knowledge of company compliance standards and best practices.
