Job Purpose

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of infrastructure and essential cluster services. Your expertise in Kubernetes, Azure, Ansible, and Terraform will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mining management systems. Your focus will be on the underlying infrastructure and core services, providing a stable foundation for the applications teams distributed around the globe to build upon. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance, including the deployment and management of custom Kubernetes operators. 
  • Manage cloud infrastructure using Azure, ensuring security and cost-efficiency. 
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible and Terraform. 
  • Collaborate with software development teams to establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Monitor system/cluster performance and proactively identify areas for improvement. 
  • Implement and maintain cluster upgrades, disaster recovery and backup strategies. 
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members, and application teams. 

Required Skills

  • 3+ Years of professional experience in SRE/DevOps Engineering. 
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related field. 
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, including the deployment and management of custom Kubernetes operators, Azure, Ansible, and Terraform. 
  • Experience with DevOps and GitOps practices in production environments. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with full SDLC. 
  • Experience with Agile software development practices. 
  • Experience with containers and related technologies (e.g., Docker). 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to adapt to new technologies quickly. 
  • Fluency in English for written and verbal communication, including meetings with customers, suppliers, and partners in multiple countries. 

Desired Skills

  • Experience with computer networking, including TCP/IP stack protocol inspection. 
  • Basic knowledge of and deployment experience with Kafka and Postgres. 
  • Linux command-line proficiency, package management, understanding of filesystems and file permissions, shell scripting, system and service management, networking, security, system performance monitoring. 
  • Experience with Microsoft IoT Edge and IoT Hub. 
  • Experience with production-grade storage solutions for Kubernetes.
