AngloGold Ashanti Selects Modular Fleet Management
Tucson, Arizona – April 20, 2010
Modular Mining Systems, Inc., the world leader in information management solutions for mining operations, announces that AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) has selected Modular as the global supplier of fleet management systems.
In November 2009, AGA signed a Master Agreement positioning Modular as the supplier of mine management technology to its open-pit operations. AGA selected Modular because it looks to standardize systems across their mines worldwide, to benchmark performance globally, and to share best practice across operations.
This agreement will be managed by the Modular Global Account Manager. A dedicated IntelliMine® Specialist will work exclusively with AGA to optimize the value delivered by Modular® solutions. The mines soon to install Modular technology include Cripple Creek & Victor, Geita, Iduapriem, and Navachab.
The deployment at Cripple Creek in particular has been especially satisfying for AGA. Modular initiated a Change Management process, and AGA received the first phase very well. “We are extremely pleased with the way Change Management Stage 1 went,” said Vivien Hui, Global Manager, Mining Information Systems, AngloGold Ashanti (Colorado) Corp. “During this time Modular had zero safety incidents, established flexibility with our schedule, and maintained high quality of work within our multi-systems integration project.”
