Modular Chairman, Dr. James Wm. White Inducted into the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame

Modular Mining Systems, Inc., the leader in mine management technology, proudly announces the induction of company co-founder and Chairman James Wm. White, Ph.D., P.E., into the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame. Dr. White was selected in recognition of his efforts in the development and commercialization of the industry-leading DISPATCH® Fleet Management system.
Dr. White received an overwhelming number of votes from the 50-person judging panel of professors, CEOs, senior corporate managers, and other industry peers, securing his place as the 2014 inductee in the Surface Load & Haul category. Since Modular’s founding in 1979, Dr. White has championed technological advancement and innovation in the areas of optimization and productivity. In 1980, the release of Modular’s DISPATCH Fleet Management system revolutionized the way mines operate in real time. The system’s proprietary optimization algorithm, industry-specific software and rugged, purpose-built hardware eliminated the need for visual pit oversight, increased production, and enabled mines to manage their entire haulage cycle from a central computer.
