Hidden Valley Incorporates Modular Technology
Tucson, Arizona – February 24, 2009
Modular Mining Systems, Inc.—the world leader in information management solutions for mining operations—announces that Hidden Valley Mine, a joint venture between Harmony Gold Ltd. and Newcrest Mining Company Ltd., will integrate the IntelliMine® asset management suite into its operations this spring.
Technology to be installed includes the DISPATCH® mine management system, the MasterLink® wireless network, and ModularReady® interfaces to Komatsu VHMS and PLM systems. Additionally, the mine hopes to implement the MineCare® maintenance management solution in the future.
The mine chose Modular because of the company’s field-proven products and specialized local support services, including on-site engineering support, training, remote data analysis, and daily system health monitoring.

Hidden Valley, located in the Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea, is a joint venture between Harmony Gold Ltd. and Newcrest Mining Ltd. Currently under construction, the gold and silver open-pit operation is expected to process around 4.2 million tonnes of ore per year.
