Modular Appoints New General Manager, Chile

Tucson, Arizona – October 13, 2011

Modular Mining Systems, Inc., the market leader in information management solutions for mining operations worldwide, is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Andree Röttig as the new General Manager of Chile.

Since joining Modular in 1998, Röttig has held positions of increasing responsibility in both regional and corporate business units. He first served as a Project Engineer in Chile, then  worked as a consultant, and went on to become Product Manager of Machine Guidance systems based in Brazil. As Product Manager, Röttig’s major accomplishments include the  successful launch of the RoadMap® position and safety tracking system, and the releases of ProVision® 3 Shovel and Dozer machine guidance systems. Most recently, he served as Manager of Operational Excellence for the Corporate Global Operations Division.

Röttig holds a Master’s of Engineering in Mine Surveying and a PhD in Geostatistics from Freiberg University of Mining and Technology in Germany. As General Manager of Chile, Röttig provides a wealth of technical expertise and multi-cultural experience in the mining industry. He will lead a dynamic sales and support services team to meet customer needs in one of Modular’s key markets. With current economic conditions, and the company’s well-established presence in the region, Röttig looks to elevate business to new levels of success.
